This hotly debated issue really comes down to one very simple difference – the respect for the dignity of a woman’s right to control her own body. I firmly believe that the government needs to respect that woman’s right. Jim Langevin does not.
Trump and Republicans have stacked our court system with pro-life judges that are more focused on politics than justice. The Supreme Court, in June Medical v. Russo, recently laid out the road map for states to challenge abortion rights. In this moment, when the Courts seem poised to pave the pathway for states to limit reproductive rights, we need strong legislative action from Congress to codify Roe v. Wade and guarantee that health decisions are personal decisions, not political decisions.
